The Stone Cottage along with the adjacent Blackwater Tavern, Post Office, Grocery Store & Filling Station are all owned by the O'Neill Family. The O’Neills have been in business in Blackwater since 1884 when the Grocery Store was originally established in the Stone Cottage. In 1977 it was relocated to its present position and the Blackwater Tavern was added in 1984 marking their centenary year in business.

The Blackwater Tavern is a comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated bar where you can enjoy a quiet drink and a game of pool or mingle with the locals. There is music and dancing every Friday night and during the week there are occasional traditional Irish music sessions. In the adjoining Grocery Store you will find all your grocery and toiletry requirements.
